Brief descriptionGovernments have already recognized ICT's potential for reducing CO2 emissions substantially. EU institutions have also published a number of documents which call upon member states to take measures, including a Commission Recommendation. For its part, the OECD published an evaluation of the large number of measures and strategies developed in this area.
ChallengesThe funds available to invest in green technology are highly limited. Especially due to restrictive lending practices, the private and public sector have encountered difficulties in financing.
