Consumer services

The following pages provide comprehensive information on topics of interest to consumers. Whether it is about legal provisions on mobile roaming abroad (Eurotariff), the legal framework for number porting, the dangers involved in surfing the Internet or difficulties with spam text messages, our objective on these pages is to offer assistance and background information for everyday telecommunications issues.

RTR has also set up a conciliation body for consumer complaints and disputes, as the Telecommunications Act 2003 (TKG 2003) requires RTR to carry out conciliation procedures. This means that consumers can turn to RTR's conciliation body for guidance and support in the case of payment disputes or other problems (e.g., when the quality of a service is not up to standard) with mobile, fixed-link, Internet or broadcasting operators or service providers.

However, in order to make use of the conciliation body's services, you must have already attempted to resolve the problems with your operator or provider directly. If you have already done so, the conciliation body will attempt to find a solution which is satisfactory for all of the parties involved.

Further information on the conciliation process – including a description of the relevant procedures, requirements and options available to consumers – can be found at conciliation body. Click here for information on the legal basis underlying conciliation procedures.

If you are interested in the conciliation body's activities in the past or would like information on specific topics related to consumer protection, you may also be interested in the conciliation body's annual activity report.
