This page provides an overview of key procedures and consultations regarding spectrum in the 3600 MHz band:

  • Nov. 8, 2004: In the course of the WLL 2004 auction, this spectrum was allocated in six regions. The spectrum was subdivided into two frequency packages (D, E) in the province of Vorarlberg (Region 4) due to preferred frequencies and into three frequency packages (A, B, C) in the remaining regions of Austria (F5/04)
  • Jan. 11, 2005: Transfer of frequency licence from Schrack Mediacom GmbH to WiMAX Telecom GmbH (F5f/04-17; petition).
  • Feb. 20, 2006: Transfer of frequency licence for Package 3A from Telekabel to Telesystem Tirol Gesellschaft m.b.H. & Co KG (F6/05-7, petition).
  • April 16, 2007: Transfer of frequency licence from WiMAX Telecom GmbH to B-Max-Breitband GmbH (Burgenland region) and change in B-Max-Breitband GmbH's ownership structure (F3/07-5, petition).
  • Oct. 4, 2007: Frequency transfer - joint petition by Telesystem Tirol and UPC Wireless GmbH (petition F10/07-1)
  • May 11, 2007: Frequency transfer - Telekom Austria AG to Telekom Austria FixNet AG (now A1 Telekom Austria AG) (petition)
  • Oct. 22, 2007: The TKK approves the transfer of frequency usage rights from Telesystem Tirol Gesellschaft m.b.H. & Co KG to UPC Wireless GmbH (F 10/07-4)
  • Oct. 31, 2007: Consultation on Procedure F 5b/04 - Petition submitted by Telekom Austria TA AG under Art. 57 Par. 4 TKG 2003 to amend frequency licences
  • Oct. 31, 2007: Consultation on Procedure F 5c/04 - Petition submitted by UPC Wireless GmbH to amend frequency licences.
  • Oct. 31, 2007: Consultation on Procedure F 8/07 - Petition submitted by WiMAX Telecom GmbH and B-MAX Breitband GmbH to amend the designated use of frequencies
  • Dec. 10, 2007: The TKK rejects the petitions submitted by Telekom Austria TA AG and UPC Wireless GmbH to amend coverage obligations, at the same time approving the mobile use of frequencies in addition to fixed and nomadic use as requested by the applicants as well as WiMAX Telecom GmbH and B-MAX Breitband GmbH. The elimination of the "radio base station" in the coverage requirements as requested by WiMAX and B-MAX is approved. (F5b/04-37F5c/04-34 and F8/07-10).
  • Dec. 28, 2007: Telekom Austria informs the TKK that it will relinquish its licence in the 3.5 GHz-band.
  • May 21, 2008: The European Union issues a decision for BWA in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band. 
  • Sept. 1, 2008: The TKK approves the change in B-MAX Breitband GmbH's ownership structure arising from the assimilation of B-MAX Breitband GmbH into WiMAX Telecom GmbH (F 5f/04-35, F 3/08-3).
  • Dec. 10, 2008: EVN Netz (Vienna and Lower Austria), B.net (Burgenland) and BF Twelve Holding (Upper Austria, Styria, Carinthia, Salzburg, Tyrol) are the winning bidders in the auction procedure for the frequencies relinquished by Telekom Austria (F1/08-58).
  • Dec. 22, 2008: In its session on December 22, the TKK acknowledges UPC's relinquishment of its frequency licence in this band.
  • Jan. 2, 2009: BF Twelve Holding is renamed 4G Mobile GmbH.
  • Aug. 31, 2009: EVN Netz (Vienna and Lower Austria), B.net (Burgenland), Salzburg AG (Salzburg) and 4G Mobile (Upper Austria, Styria, Carinthia, Tyrol) are the winning bidders in the auction procedure for the frequencies relinquished by UPC (F 1/09).
  • Dec. 21, 2009: The TKK approves the transfer of the licence for sub-packages G2A, G2B and G3 (2x21/28 MHz in the Salzburg region from the 3500 MHz frequency assignment procedure (2009) F1/08) from 4G Mobile GmbH to Salzburg AG für Energie, Verkehr und Telekommunikation (Petition F2/09-1, F2/09-4).
  • Feb. 4, 2010: Joint petition submitted by WiMAX Telecom GmbH and 4G Mobile AG for the transfer of a licence (Petition F1/10-1).
  • March 8, 2010: The TKK approves the transfer of WiMAX Telecom GmbH's licence to 4G Mobile AG (F1/10-4).
  • May 12, 2011: Publication of the results of the consultation on future frequency assignments and on the liberalisation of the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz frequency bands
  • March 21, 2012: Relinquishment of frequency usage rights by 4G Mobile GmbH arising from the decisions F1/08-58 of Dec 22, 2008 and F1a/09-15 of Aug 31, 2009.
  • Sept. 6, 2012: Application of Westnet Telekommunikations- und Informationsdienstleistungs GmbH (F11/12) on transfer of frequency license from 4G Mobile.
  • Sept. 12, 2012: Applications of Camyno GmbH (F7/12), Otto M. Steinmann e.U (F8/12), netcompany WLAN Internet Provider GmbH  (F9/12) and Peter Rauter GmbH (F10/12) on transfer of frequency license from 4G Mobile.
  • Oct. 11, 2012: Application of Teleport Consulting & Systemmanagement GmbH (F12/12) on transfer of frequency license from 4G Mobile.
  • Oct. 22, 2012: The TKK approves transfer of frequency license from 4G Mobile to Camyno GmbH (F7/12-10), Otto M. Steinmann e.U (F8/12-10), netcompany WLAN Internet Provider GmbH  (F9/12-10), Peter Rauter GmbH (F10/12-10) and Westnet Telekommunikations- und Informationsdienstleistungs GmbH (F11/12-7)
  • Jan. 7, 2013: The TKK approves transfer of frequency license from 4G Mobile to Russmedia IT GmbH (F12/12)
  • Dec. 16, 2013: Frequency allocation to LinzNet (F1/13)
  • Mar 27, 2014: Publication of atender for a regional 3,5 GHz block
  • June 30, 2014: Allocation of frequencies in Carinthia (F3/13)
  • Nov 7, 2016: TKK approved the cession of spectrum of Westnet Telekommunikations- und Informationsdienstleistungs GmbH to  XINON GmbH (F6/16)
  • April 8, 2019: Award procedure 3.4 - 3.8 GHz (F7/16)
  • February 17, 2020: Modification of usage rights (F1/19)
