The regulatory authority is again conducting a risk assessment for the telecommunications sector on the basis of the Austrian Cyber Security Strategy (ÖSCS) and the Austrian Program for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (APCIP). This is necessary to ensure the timeliness of the risks identified and the measures derived, and to maintain a high level of protection.
The Telecommunications Industry Risk Analysis 2020 was again carried out within the framework of a PPP process together with the ministries responsible for security, the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, with operators and their interest groups as well as with proponents of the Internet community, and was completed in spring 2021.
