UDV
Universaldienstverordnung [Universal Service Ordinance]

UMTS/IMT-2000
UMTS/IMT-2000 refers to the project of a future universal mobile communications system integrating the present mobile communications systems. It is being developed by the ITU as joint successor of the present 2G mobile communications systems (e.g. GSM 900 and GSM 1800) under the name IMT-2000 (International Mobile Telecommunications 2000). IMT-2000 is a global family of co-operating mobile communications systems. The European version has been standardised by ETSI using the term UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System).

Unbundling
Pursuant to Art. 37 (1) TKG in connection with Art. 3 ZVO, unbundling of the local loop means the obligation of companies with significant market power to make available to other operators the line segments of the access network from the local switch to the subscriber against payment.

Universal service
Minimum provision of public telecommunications services to which all customers must be given access at a reasonable price regardless of their place of residence or business. see section III.4
