Welcome to the conciliation body of RTR!

For consumers, RTR offers support through conciliation procedures if you have problems with a provider.

We can carry out conciliation procedures in the following areas:

  • Telecommunication: e.g. Telephone and internet services
  • Media: e.g. Cable television networks, program subscription providers
  • Post: e.g. Parcel and letter delivery

What is a conciliation procedure?

In a conciliation procedure, the conciliation body tries to solve a conflict between the consumer and the provider by providing a written solution. Unlike a court ruling, the consumer and the provider must agree to the proposal for it to become binding.

What are the advantages of the conciliation procedure at RTR?

In many cases, conciliation procedures offer quick and satisfactory solutions to problems. The procedures at the conciliation body are also free of charge. The consumer still has the possibility to have a problem resolved by a court. Separate guidelines apply to conciliation procedures.

State-recognized consumer conciliation body for post and telecommunications

In Austria, state-recognized conciliation bodies have been set up for many areas.

In conciliation procedures between consumers and postal service providers or operators of telecommunications services, RTR is a state-recognized consumer conciliation body.
