Pilot operation for digital terrestrial television and interactive MHP applacations
INFOTEXT as a digital version of selected teletext content

INFOTEXT is ORF‘s up-to-date information service, offering general headlines and the latest news in the areas of domestic and international news, sports, culture, weather, people, etc. On average, Infotext offered approximately 350 pages of text information and 80 photos during the !TV4GRAZ project. The text reports were predominantly taken from the data used in ORF teletext. Depending on how current the content was, these reports were updated and substituted regularly (even several times a day) .
INFOTEXT is a 24/7 service, which means that viewers can access this information at all times – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The portal can be opened by pressing the red button on the remote control. The television image is then displayed in miniature format in the upper right-hand corner, and
INFOTEXT appears in the remaining space. A three-level navigation bar (controlled using the arrow buttons on the remote) allows viewers to choose among the categories mentioned above and to retrieve the desired information.

The orange navigator display ensures that the user always knows his/her current location within the portal by tracking the navigation commands entered by the user. When the user presses the OK button, the content highlighted in orange is opened on the screen. One special feature of all ORF portals is the fact that that the navigator always moves the selected menu item to the center of the navigation bar. Thus the desired information is moved to the center of the user‘s attention.
