The regulatory authority is again conducting a risk assessment for the telecommunications sector on the basis of the Austrian Cyber Security Strategy (ÖSCS) and the Austrian Program for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (APCIP). This is necessary to ensure the timeliness of the risks identified and the measures derived, and to maintain a high level of protection.
The telecoms sector risk assessment 2023 will again be carried out within the framework of a PPP process together with the Federal Ministries responsible for security, with telecom operators and their representation of interests as well as proponents of the Internet community and should be completed in 2024. Electronic communications network operators and providers of electronic communications services are cordially invited to contribute their expertise and to participate in the re-evaluation of the security situation in the telecommunications sector.
