In its decision of August 20, 1999 (GZ K 50/98-5), the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Transport assigned responsibility for the 395-399 MHz and 385-389 MHz frequency bands, which are designated for the operation of a TETRA bundled radio communications system, to the Telekom Control Commission. These 40 frequency channels can only be used by base stations located in the Province of Vienna, or in the Greater Vienna Area (Wien-Umgebung), Mödling, Baden and Korneuburg districts.
