Data visualisation

The RTR Telecom Monitor is available as an interactive data visualisation tool in German.

Individual data and graphics can be downloaded or reused directly via a link or embedded code. Clicking on bars or data points in the graphics displays a corresponding text with the changes. In addition to the interactive visualisation, there is also the option of viewing the monitor in PDF format.

Various sources are used for the Telecom Monitor.

• Most of the data comes from surveys based on the KEV (Communications Survey Regulation). This is a regular survey of the 29 (largest) telecommunications operators, which together cover a large part of the telecommunications markets. This includes data from the areas of mobile communications (including mobile broadband), fixed-line telephony, Ethernet services and leased lines, employees and investments. Turnover from fixed broadband and data on broadband bundle products also come from the sample.
• The remaining data on fixed broadband comes from the ZIB survey. This survey is also conducted regularly among all fixed broadband providers and is therefore a complete survey.
  
• The mobile communications price index (mobile communications index) is calculated by RTR on the basis of data from mobile communications operators active in Austria and published tariff data from the Chamber of Labour (AK Tarifwegweiser).
