Spectrum 900 MHz

The figure below shows the 900 MHz frequency band (band 8):

The frequency bands are operated in FDD mode, with mobile phones transmitting in the lower band and base stations transmitting in the upper band. The freuqency band is currently used for LTE, GSM and IoT-NB. It can also be used for NR (5G).

The following figure shows the usage rights in the 900 MHz band:


On Feb 7th, 2022 the European Comission stipulated by in an implementing decision (see download below) that so called block edge masks. This allow the use of active antenna systems in this band. This is particularly interesting for the use of 5G.
