A single frequency package from the spectrum designated for digital trunked radio systems under the Austrian Frequency Utilization Ordinance (Federal Law Gazette II No. 364/1998) was auctioned off in this procedure.
These 40 frequency channels can be used throughout Austria, with the exception of a 100km area around the Province of Vienna and the districts of the Greater Vienna Area (Wien-Umgebung), Mödling, Baden and Korneuburg. This geographical limitation does not apply if the applicant has already been allocated frequencies in the areas mentioned above, or if the licensees reach a private-law agreement on different (i.e., smaller) geographical boundaries.
