Best Practices for a functioning, user-friendly and sustainable ODS Sector

The ODS Network, comprising ten certified out-of-court dispute settlement organisations from across the EU, is pleased to publish its paper “Best Practices for a functioning, user-friendly and sustainable ODS Sector”.

ODS Bodies are calling for regulatory guidance in setting best practices for the sector and in making the ODS process work smoothly and meaningfully across the “ODS Chain”:

  1. User awareness: Users are aware of their rights and how to use them, including signposting by platform
  2. Dispute information: ODS Bodies collect necessary information from users
  3. Admissibility checks: Guidance needed on scope of admissible disputes
  4. Content sharing by platforms: Platforms share content needed for independent case revie
  5. Case review and ODS decision: Independent review based on content vs default or procedural decision
  6. Implementation: Platform informs user & ODS Body of final decision
